Overview
Care shared by many specialists
Multidisciplinary clinics treat patients who see several specialists, often at the same time. Every therapist needs to follow the others’ progress notes to understand how the patient is evolving.
Meanwhile the reception runs the schedule and the managers run insurance and finances, usually in separate tools. The goal was one system for all of it.
Research
Listening to the people who run clinics
We started with market research and an analysis of competing clinic software, to see what already existed and where it fell short.
Then we ran in-depth interviews with clinic coordinators and managers, to understand their routine and what they needed from a system.
Design
Designed for three groups at once
The same system serves people with very different jobs: managers need the whole picture, the reception needs the day’s schedule, and therapists need the patient’s history.
- Coordinators and managers
- Reception
- Therapists
- Multi-professional schedule for every professional, in real time.
- Patient records with history, guardian, insurance and status.
- Shared progress notes between the therapists of the same patient.
- Insurance management, WhatsApp reminders to reduce no-shows, and financial reports.
Outcome
Weekly feedback from a real clinic
The platform is in a pilot at a clinic in Rio de Janeiro. We meet with the team every week to understand what works and what does not, and adjust the product from there.
Feedback has been positive so far, and the next step is rolling it out to the whole clinic.
